SANITATION WORKER INJURES SHOULDER USING BRUSH MOWER, GETS ¾ PENSION
Sanitation Worker assigned to Staten Island Lot Cleaning was using a brush mower when it unexpectantly toppled over due to a broken curb. He tore his shoulder and needed surgery, never returning to work. As a result, our office successfully represented him before NYCERS and obtained a ¾ tax free disability Pension. In addition, we have brought a lawsuit against the City of NY and property owner for having a defective and dangerous curb.

A Letter From Robert Verde To Joseph Mannion,
President of the Sanitation Officers Association (Brooklyn, NY)
Dear Joe,
I am writing to thank you and the boys at the Union hall for all your help and support over the years. I am retiring due to a Back injury, two surgeries, many injections in my spine and lots of pain management. The Department did not make it easy. I'll leave it at that! There was one other person who fought the good fight for me during these last 5 years, and that was Todd Strier, Esq., from the law firm of Kelner and Kelner. He knows the Department of Sanitation inside and out! Do not let his boyish looks fool you. It is a tactic. He out smarted them every step of the way, and then Todd, and Bob Kelner negotiated a generous settlement for me. Joe, I would highly recommend Todd Strier to any of my Local 444 Brothers and Sisters. I have enclosed some business cards of his. Please give them to Frank, Joe, Glen and Art, and anyone else who you feel might benefit from Todd's expertise.
Hi Todd,
I just wanted to say how happy I am that we won this pension case. I was so worried about my family's future, this would never have happen if it wasn't for you. I want you to know how grateful I am. Looking forward to see you soon and I hope you don't mind that a 240 pound man is going to give you the biggest hug!!
Thank you so much!!
Dan
Dear Todd,
Just wanted to say "Hello" and thank you again for your good work on my behalf on this fourth anniversary of my accident. I believe you went above and beyond for me in obtaining a settlement which helped so much toward the expenses incurred.
Sincerely,
Marie Warach
